Band: Dirty Honey
Label: Dirty Honey
Release Date: March 2019
The universal harmonics of, well, the universe seem to be crying out for the sounds of yesteryear but with today’s edge. You may ask, “Why do you say that, Boomerocity?”
Well, I’m glad you asked.
Besides the fact that almost everybody is either listening to classic rock, blues, and R&B again, up and coming artists – the new generation, if you will - are openly tapping into the sounds and vibes of our day. Not only can you point to the likes of Greta Van Fleet, but you can also now lean into a great, bleeding-edge band called Dirty Honey.
When you put some Dirty Honey onto your listening biscuit, you get flavors of Zeppelin, Black Crowes, Motley Crue, vintage David Lee Roth, a dash of Clapton and Van Halen, and a speck of Boston. At least, that’s what I got from it when I indulged myself into their delectable serving of good time rock and roll. These guys are a blast to listen to and I’m betting a dollar to a donut that they’re a lot of fun to watch on stage, too.
With the band’s debut, self-titled EP (available on this page), the listener will be treated to seven songs covering almost a half-hour of rock and roll the way it was meant to be played . . . and at just 99 cents a pop!
