Stone Temple Pilots: Alive at the Windy City  is the first –ever commercial concert video authorized by the band and it’s sure to be a STP fan-pleaser beyond any doubt.  Filmed March, 2010, at Chicago’s historic Riviera Theater in front of a sold-out crowd, Scott Weiland, Robert DeLeo, Dean DeLeo and Eric Kretz gave them – and, now, the rest of us – a great show for the record books.

The 92 minute set was recorded in DTS-HD Master Audio and LPCM Stereo, capturing songs from their self-titled sixth album along with tunes from the previous five albums.  Songs included in the set-list are Big Empty, Plush (the Boomerocity favorite), Creep, Interstate Love Song and many, many others.

The performance is flawless, high energy STP at their best.  Robert DeLeo’s steady bass worked well with Kretz’s drum work to keep the music well-grounded, allowing Dean DeLeo’s guitar work to fly seem effortless and independent yet tightly integrated with the band and Weiland’s signature vocals.

What makes this show especially enduring is the fact that the band has endured not only musically for twenty years but has done so without personnel changes.  How many well established bands who have been around at least that long can say that?

STP fans will want to snap up this incredible concert  in either DVD or Blu-ray for their own private concert of their favorite band as often as they want to watch it.  It’s that good!
